Jatin Varma presented his newest collection “Dark Angels” at Lakmé Fashion Week. The silhouettes were highlighted with shades of midnight blue, stone, wine and deep purple. The garments were lean and figure hugging, beautified with the embellishments. Mini sheaths, fitted gowns, flapper dresses with beads, sleek maxi with mosaic designs had plunged backs, extended shoulders with chains, felt applique, embroidery and etc – all of these had a dramatic effect on the creations. Jatin Varma featured a sophisticated and edgy collection with dramatic Gothic touches.
Jatin Varma offered “Glisten – Shine by Reflection” collection with Red Carpet looks. The designer worked around structured dresses and gowns, with a perfect finish by laser cut-outs and matte sequins. Jatin opened the show with three futuristic creations made from stunning laser cut felt. Then, the designer followed with Red Carpet designs draped with net and silk covers, crystal encrusted mini with the mesh laser cut shell, gowns floated down with ruched bodices and etc. The eye catching lemon crimped ruffle gowns were worn with mesh boleros, or a cape. The black section had a glamorous offering. The final creation displayed a plunge neckline and high front slit, it was the ultra icing in the collection.
Jatin Varma graduated from the Pearl Academy of Fashion. He showcased his Fall/Winter 2008 Collection in Paris at Vendôme Luxury Show and in London Fashion Week in 2009. Jatin Varma’s philosophy is about strong graphic shapes, fluid silhouettes and bold design elements. The inspiration for the collection “Paparazzi” revolved around glamour looks for the Red Carpet. The designer presented slinky gowns, dresses, skirts and tops. The prevailing colors in the collection were dull gold, old rose, deep-sea green, cream, forest green and touches of midnight black. Jatin Varma used sequins, lace, silk, net, chiffon and acetate fabrics to lavish his creations. He added a hint of animal prints with sequins and lace to give a new dimension in the garments. Jatin Varma started the show with a sequined long slit skirt combined with a gray/black satin corset. The silhouettes in the collection stayed true to being glamorous with the emphasize on fitted body shapes.
