Iceland-born Anita Hirlekar moved to London to study at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design where she completed her BA in 2012 and MA in 2014. Her design signature has a strong focus on the artistic glamor and individuality along with embracing modern craft. Anita Hirlekar’s MA collection won a special prize at the International Talent Support (ITS) competition 2014. Her work has been featured in Vogue.co.uk, Style.com, Elle UK, Showstudio.com, ID magazine and Anothermag.com. The graduate collection was inspired by the painting of twin brothers Gert & Uwe Tobias. Anita Hirlekar transformed traditional elements into modern ones. The allure of designs was juxtaposed by comfort and clashing color combinations. Anita Hirlekar broke the complex textural architecture with bold strokes of color and sheer panels. The collection featured feminine, original and contemporary garments.
