Yasutaka Tomita set up Dictionary label in 2008. The Dictionary was named after the act as a starting point. The brand’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection theme was called “The Last Memories”. Designer referred to the heavy work of Dadaism, actress Jeanne Moreau of film Noir Era and Kiki de Montparnasse, which included motifs and details in the collection. The colors in collection had freshness in them, giving off a feel and a sense of openness in the early summer, in the south of France. “Marine” style was proposed by Yasutaka Tomita combined with the retro style and chic looks.
