Martin Lamothe Fall/Winter 2012-13, Madrid

Martin Lamothe is the high-end brand created by Elena Martin, Saint Martins MA graduate and ex-assistant for Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. The name of the collection was “Park Life”, Blur and the song that put the score in the final carousel summary, were the two main inspirations of Martin Lamothe for Fall/ Winter: parks and British life. The first look that was imposed on the catwalk was immersed with artificial grass. The second came in burgundy color with gold chains bowler-Mil-millinery as the accessory key, which appeared during the whole collection. In the looks, Queen optical perspective was presented, which began in wool, leather skirts and jackets in silk. The garments evolved and became vaporous dresses, pants and camisoles. A constant dialogue between nature with garments in silk, which embodied the uncontrollable and artificial nature of human beings, with leather-sculpted into triangles, and bullet-knit, which contrasted roughness and relevancy with brazen light clothing fluency. The colors were very fall, with great prominence of burgundy and gray, a duality that was used in jackets, body suits and dresses in successful combination of invigorating green trousers, palazzo pants and suit jacket, green water mixed with gray insulated the three-piece. The color palette was summarized in the perfect printed silk pieces, with a commitment to the geometric shape in triangles and squares with 3D effect. Pilar Burgos shoes in black, wine and green with big platform shoes and heel were exposed on the catwalk.
