Georgia Hardinge graduated from the Parsons Paris School of Art and Design in 2008, and she was awarded the Golden Thimble best designer for her graduate collection. After her return to London in 2009, the designer set up her fashion label under the namesake. Georgia’s signature style represents both conceptual and wearable aesthetics. Her new collection “Faded” was inspired by shapes from the shadows of architectural structures such as bridges and buildings. Georgia Hardinge developed a pleating technique that was fused with 2D and 3D components. She also brought into play pleated sculptures and invented a new technique of pleating to create a fading sculptures effect with knitwear. The prints helped to enforce the concept of light and shadow in the collection. Georgia Hardinge continued to experiment with high-tech methods and making her designs wearable and desirable.
