Janna van Vugt studied at Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and graduated in 2013. During her studies, she worked at Spijkers en Spijkers and the Belgian design duo of A.F. Vandevorst. For her graduation collection “They Grew Down the River, All Bloody and Wild”, Janna van Vugt drew inspiration from architecture in a combination with elements from living nature mainly based on The Goetheanum (1928, Rudolf Steiner). Her work deployed sculptural forms that manifested femininity. The designer focused on the richness of details, balance, and simplicity. The collection embraced a unique vision of Janna van Vugt, who delivered ten conceptual and innovative creations.
