Real Style Magazine, Summer 2013 issue
Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort is known for her roles as Sadie Harrison in the Canadian television series “Instant Star”, Kara Zor-El in the American television series “Smallville”, and Lisa in the ABC science fiction series “V”.
“It was thrilling to have Laura Vandervoort wear my dresses, as it’s my first time dressing a celebrity from a TV series. I thought she looked feminine and beautiful.”
She wore three extraordinary dresses made by the talented Tex Saverio in a Real Style Magazine, Summer 2013 issue (full name Real Style Network).
“Real Style Network was working on their “Fantasy” issue (Summer 2013), which is their biggest issue to date. They wanted us to dress Laura Vandervoort, as she was the celebrity feature, and they ended up choosing 3 dresses from our collections.”
His breathtaking gowns were noticed and worn by Pop singer Lady Gaga for Harper’s Bazaar Magazine US, a reality TV star Kim Kardashian for Elle Magazine, an American actress Jennifer Lawrence wore in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, Character Portrait, and now Laura Vandervoor for Real Style Magazine.
“It is delightful to have my designs worn by women with different types of beauty and personalities looking beautiful in my dresses.”
She wore a black dress with ruffles from “My Courtesan” Collection 2010, which was inspired by comic books and movie “Moulin Rouge”, and the other two from “Midas” Collection 2011. In the collection “My Courtesan”, Tex Saverio used a courtesan as a reference point – the term originates from 1540, and means “a woman of the court”.
“The black tulle gown with ruffles is from my first collection, My Courtesan.”
She was a paramour to the royal, noble and wealthy men of society, who provided her with luxuries and status in exchange for her charming, cultured and skilled companionship. Tex believes that every woman can look beautiful, strong and sensual. The collection had about seventeen dresses, which were created with the focus on the combined shape bustier with pleated ornaments, embroidery, and tassels with thread ribbons through the use of 300 meter and 200 meter organza as a decorative detail.
The collection “Midas” 2011 carried evening gowns with dominating gold color. One of the gowns – the stunning gold dress worn by Laura Vandervoor was created from a combination of lame, organza, tulle and heavily embellished with crystals, 3D flowers and metal with a highly flared hem. The gold corset was made with sunray pleats and ribbon embroidery using lame and organza fabric.
“Two pieces were selected from Midas Collection. The gold corset is made of sunray pleats with ribbon embroidery using lame and organza fabric.”
“The long gold dress is made from a combination of lame, organza and tulle, and its heavily embellished with crystals and metal with an extremely flared hem.”

The fashion lovers from around the globe admire the 28-year-old designer’s edgy, yet theatrical and ornate creations, and many of them compare his designs to the British designer Alexander McQueen.
