Matija Vuica is a Croatian designer, artist and a costume designer, who resides in Zagreb since 1978. Her design career started in the Eighties, and she became a famous creator of unique evening dresses. In her work Matija Vuica always uses the finest silk and lace to make her garments. Recently, she showcased her magical collection “Frontiers” at Schwarzkopf Cro A Porter. The starting point of the fashion show was a human spirit that wonders around without the concept of time, space or limits. Next, a journey to the Hollywood glamor from the movies was brought to the picture, and it was replaced by ethnic Croatian Posavina story, which ended at the Afghanistan border. These different worlds were merged together into a characteristic splendor of Vuica’s creations that emanated a feminine power. Antique ethnic elements over 100 years old were unified with modern lace and silk that perfectly captured beauty, tradition and balance.
