Maya Hansen Spring/Summer 2015

Spanish designer Maya Carbajal Alex-Hansen graduated from the Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid with honors in 2002. The designer launched her label in 2006. Maya Hansen has been participating at Madrid Fashion Week since 2010. She has developed body-hugging silhouettes based on the corsetry. Maya Hansen worked with celebrities like Lady Gaga, Nieves Álvarez, Rossy de Palma, Jessie J, Alaska, Paz Vega, Mónica Cruz and Pilar Rubio, and so on. She presented her latest collection “Birth” at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, which embraced the theme of human birth. The prints were inspired by the anatomist William Hunter’s drawings, obstetrician specialist. Printed and solid satins, elastic taffetas, brocades, Chantilly and dyed laces, elastic and sequined fabrics were articulated into the looks. The transparent fabrics were amalgamated with opaque fabrics. Old vintage prints were blended together with lingerie aesthetics, architectural and retro-futuristic components. Metal and plastic corsets, long dresses and cocktail dresses, bolero jackets, skirts with voluminous elements and leggings were featured on the runway. The collection exhibited ultra feminine, original and modern creations. Posh Fairytale Couture created six unique headdress cage masks for the lineup, and the shoes were made by Jefferey Campbell.
