Olga Noronha Jewellery Fall/Winter 2014-15

Olga Noronha Jewellery F/W 2014-15Portuguese jewellery designer Olga Noronha creates bold sculptures that become extensions of the body. The act of wearing one of these pieces represents a new way of thinking and the body becomes a showcase by combining its movement with the implicit life of the art piece. Olga Noronha explores the fusion of anatomy and medicine through her object-jewels. She showcased her collection “Corpus in Claustrum” as part of the project Sangue Novo at the ModaLisboa Fashion Week, which promoted the work of young fashion designers. The theme explored the mysteries of the body and femininity by combining together shiny metal structures with silk to simulate a theatrical ambiance. Olga Noronha emphasized on the optical effect with a sequence of lines that provoked sensations and anxieties to illustrate the intimate connection between the body of the wearer and metallic structures. The conceptual collection replicated the idea of Olga Noronha that her pieces merge with the human body.
