Designer Elise Dealmeida launched the chikimiki label, which is inspired by art and the world that surrounds us. The label is influenced by Japanese design and it was created for individualistic woman who is not afraid to be different. Dealmeida’s clothing is unique, versatile and seasonless. Chikimiki tries to bridge the gap between fashion and art by making one of the kind pieces. The concept focuses on the crafmanship that has no fear of time and can be worn five years later. Each garment is made in the highest quality. Most of the chikimiki pieces are crafted in New York – at a studio or at local factories. Ten percent of the profit made from selling a garment goes to Bookfriends, an organization in charge of providing schoolbooks for children in Africa.
